A man recently featured on Acadia Parish Crimes Stoppers has been arrested, according to the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say that Billy Joe Hanks, who was recently featured in a segment of Crime Stoppers, was arrested on Saturday with the help of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.
The Youngsville Police department received a tip regarding Hanks’ whereabouts. The information was shared with Acadia Parish deputies and an arrest warrant was executed.
Hanks was arrested in a hotel room in Lafayette without incident. He was wanted on charges of felony theft, aggravated flight from an officer, criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing.
