We're Open: Don's Seafood

and last updated

Several restaurants in Acadiana are now offering patio dining and say they're ready to enter this new stage of reopening.

Take Don's Seafood on Johnston Street in Lafayette - that's where KATC's Scott Brazda was Friday evening as the restaurant was serving dinner on the patio.

Don's is venturing into the world of outdoor dining, and in the process adhering to the rules and regulations put forth by the government and the CDC.

Social distancing is in place, and patrons are still not allowed to eat inside Don's, or any other restaurant for that matter. Inside dining is on the governor's wishlist when phase one of reopening Louisiana happens - tentatively around May 15.

Don's was actually closed for a couple of weeks as owners took the time to assess the coronavirus situation and to do some extra strength cleaning of the restaurant.

In the meantime, the customers we saw there were just glad to be out and at Don's once again, and our visit with staff members strongly suggests that the feeling is mutual.
