Thousands of Entergy and Cleco customers are without power in parts of Iberia, St. Mary and lower St. Martin parishes early on Saturday, July 13 as coastal areas start to feel the effects of Tropical Storm Barry.
Here's an update from Entergy: Entergy’s Louisiana utilities are working to restore power where it is safe to do so. As of 10:30 a.m., we have approximately 58,000 customers without power across the state. As the storm continues to move ashore, crews are facing several challenges, including road and flood-gate closures, impassable roadways due to flooding and high winds preventing the use of bucket trucks in some areas. For their safety, crews cannot operate bucket trucks when winds are 30 mph or higher.
