As Hurricane Laura continues to move across the state, Cleco is reporting 126,000 customers are without power.

Cleco Power has a combined workforce of 1,900 ready to respond to system damage and power outages caused by Laura.

The safety of our crews, contractors and customers is priority in everything we do. Once conditions are safe, line crews will patrol to assess damage by land and air and begin restoration efforts.

One of the most dangerous parts of a storm is oftentimes right after it passes.

Officials say assume all downed power lines are live and stay away.
