Daily storm chances to kick off the work week.
Good afternoon everyone! Not the best of days weather-wise as storms put a damper on our day. Now the good news is that most of the activity is starting to settle down and we are only left with light to moderate showers out there.
Things should remain quiet overnight Sunday into early Monday morning as lows drop back into the low to mid 70s.
We are still going to be dealing with an upper-level disturbance and a surface low pressure close to the area heading into Monday which should keep rain chances on the higher side. Very much like today, we may see the activity starting to get going as early as tomorrow morning and continuing somewhat into the afternoon. Rain chances will sit at 80% as our high temperatures top out in the lower to mid 80s.
The unsettled pattern will continue into Tuesday before the upper disturbance and surface low pressure begin to move out. We still may have scattered storms around for Wednesday, but the coverage should be much lower.
High pressure will then begin to move in from the southeast later in the week which will help to dry us out for Thursday and Friday. Typical daily rain chances return for next weekend. Y'all have a great week!
In the tropics: Continue to watch Tropical Depression #5 that is located just north of the island of Bermuda, but it will continue to quickly trek off harmlessly into the open Atlantic.
The NHC is also highlighting an area off the coast of Florida. They are giving it about a 40% chance to develop in the next 5 days as it looks to parallel the eastern seaboard. The system will be no threat to Acadiana.
The rest of the tropics remain quiet at this time.
