The sun is expected to return to Acadiana Sunday with seasonably cool temperatures, especially at night, and are expected to stick around through Tuesday morning.
After a stormy Friday, cloudy windy and cool conditions persisted Saturday holding temperatures in the fall-like 60s.
Those clouds will likely stay in Acadiana overnight but should slowly thin from northwest to southeast toward Sunday morning.
A few very light misty sprinkles will be possible with the stratiform clouds through Saturday night...but no significant rain is expected.
Look for temperatures to drop into the invigorating low-mid 50s in most areas by Sunday morning. Clouds though may hold temperatures up a few more degrees than the forecast guidance.
The cloud cover will thin from the northwest to southeast Sunday morning yielding to mostly sunny skies and pleasant afternoon temperatures in the mid-upper 70s.
Clear and quite cool conditions are expected again Sunday night into Monday morning with lows once again in the low-mid 50s.
Some very nice days are also anticipated Monday and Tuesday but a return of southeasterly winds by mid-week will insure a warming and more humid trend along with the chance of scattered daytime showers and storms from Wednesday on into the weekend.
In fact, the back-end of the 10 Day Forecast is looking more like what we should expect in the latter part of May, along with elevated chances of daytime showers and a few storms.
For now though, no local severe weather threats are anticipated when those rain chances return...unless some "frontal forcing" enters the equation which is not expected until later in the weekend or early the following week.
It should be noted, that after Tuesday morning we may see the last of 50s for the better part of the next 4 months!
