It was so nice to finally get a full day of sunshine but with clear skies tonight temperatures will drop fast falling into the upper 40s by 9PM and bottoming out in the upper 30s to lower 40s by Sunday morning.
The good news is with another full day of sunshine on Sunday that will warm temperatures up quickly with highs pushing the lower 70s during the afternoon.
Clouds will start to slide over Acadiana late Sunday night holding lows Monday morning in the lower 50s.
Monday will be another mild day with highs in the lower 70s but we will have more clouds than sun, along with the chance for a stray shower during the evening.
Rain chances go up to about 40% on Tuesday as our next weather maker inches closer to the region.
Widespread showers and storms are likely Wednesday afternoon as a low pressure system slides through Acadiana.
A couple storms could be on the strong to severe side with gusty winds up to 60 mph as the main threat but it looks like the better chance for bad weather will be more to our east towards New Orleans up into South Mississippi.
Models also keep the higher rain totals to our east and north but I still think Acadiana will see a good soaking with up to an inch of rain on Wednesday, but flooding should not be an issue.
A few light showers could linger into Thursday morning but the bigger story will be the cooler and breezy conditions returning to Acadiana Thursday afternoon as highs only top out in the mid 50s.
Friday looks to be a beautiful winter day with lots of sunshine and near normal temperatures in the mid 60s.
Next weekend also looks really good with highs in the lower 70s under partly cloudy skies.
There is a small chance for a stray shower Saturday evening as a weak cool front tries to swing down into the Southeast.
Then going into the following week decent rain chances could return to Acadiana on Monday and Tuesday.
