Sunny Skies For Christmas Eve

Clouds Return for Christmas

and last updated

A quiet weather pattern is expected to hold through the holidays. High pressure is building in, while low pressure continues to struggle its way eastward. Some residual cloud cover has been noted over the coastal and eastern parts of Acadiana, while some high, thin cirrus cloudiness is streaming in from the west. Most of the cloud cover will erode early this morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies! Expect temperatures on Christmas Eve to reach 70 degrees, just a few degrees above normal for late December.

Overnight, skies should remain mostly clear with temperatures in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees. Expect a bit of cloudiness to return for Christmas Day as southerly winds return. Temperatures should easily climb into the lower 70s for afternoon highs.

It will stay mostly cloudy and mild later Wednesday night into early Thursday. Lows will drop into the 50s. Clouds will remain in place for Thursday, with a few showers into the weekend. Highs will stay in the 70s through Saturday, with highs dropping back into the 60s early next week.
