Subtropical Storm Alpha has formed in the Atlantic, making it's way to Portugal
The National Hurricane Center says that Alpha has formed off the coast of Portugal and is expected to be short-lived but will bring winds and rains to portions of the country.
The NHC says that little change in strength is forecast until landfall in Portugal during the next couple of hours. Global models show the small low moving northeastward at about 15 kt for the next 24 hours before dissipating over northern Spain or the Bay of Biscay.
Due to the formation of Alpha in the Atlantic, the Gulf storm which is currently Tropical Depression 22 is likely to be named Tropical Storm Beta.
