High pressure to the southeast and a deep low pressure trough to our west, will start to bring a better chance for showers and thunderstorms as we progress through the day. So far, most of the active weather has remained over Texas, with just a few streamer showers here in Acadiana this morning. The front will progress eastward later in the day, and coverage will move over Acadiana by this afternoon and evening.
We can expect rains to continue overnight into early Saturday morning. Temperatures Saturday will be somewhat cooler with highs in the upper 60s. The front will then retreat northward on Sunday. Some storms will be possible early in the day with rains diminishing by the afternoon. Expect highs Sunday to reach the mid 70s.
Next week, rain chances will drop off as high pressure builds at the surface and aloft. This will set the stage for a warm forecast next week. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
