Tuesday is shaping up to be a nice day with partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures. High pressure will be shifting eastward, allowing winds to shift from the north to the east later today. Humidity levels will be increasing, but it will still be a very comfortable day. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s this afternoon. Overnight, skies will remain cloudy. Temperatures will be much more mild with lows only in the mid 60s.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with storms developing late in the afternoon for the western sections. A Pacific system will move eastward generating low pressure over the Red River Valley. This will move east Wednesday night into early Thursday bringing a cold front into the area.
Showers and storms are likely overnight Wednesday into Thursday with clearing skies by Thursday afternoon. Some storms may become severe with gusty winds and small hail being the primary threat. Some tornadoes are possible over central and northern parts of Louisiana.
By the end of the week, a reinforcing shot of drier air will push in behind a secondary cold front. Expect highs over the weekend to run in the lower 80s with mostly sunny skies Friday, and a few more clouds on Saturday and Sunday. Overnight temperatures this weekend will run in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
