Lots of Sunshine

Getting Warmer This Weekend
Posted
and last updated

Cool, high pressure will build in today giving way to sunny skies and mild temperatures. Most of the region is starting with clear skies and temperatures in the upper 50s. With plenty of sunshine today, afternoon temperatures should reach the mid to upper 70s for daytime highs. Pleasantly cool temperatures will stick around overnight, with skies remaining clear. Expect lows in the upper 50s once again.

High pressure at the surface will begin moving eastward. A bit of a return flow off of the Gulf of Mexico should help begin a warming trend into Friday and the weekend. Sunny skies are expected again Friday with highs in the lower 80s. We'll go with mid 80s for Saturday under mostly sunny skies, and upper 80s by the time we reach the end of the weekend.

Early next week a high pressure ridge will build in the upper levels. This will again prevent any rainfall for the early part of the week. It will also set the stage for summer like temperatures. Expect highs Monday and Tuesday to reach toward the 90 degree mark!
