Scattered showers in Acadiana, latest on the Gulf

It’s been a heavy, moisture rich atmosphere this week and that doesn’t look to be breaking up any time soon, certainly not this week.

A surge of tropical moisture/possible tropical depression doesn’t help matters much either so expect another round of scattered showers and a few storms.

The wet weather won’t be widespread and while there may be the occasional downpour the showers shouldn’t be too problematic.

It won’t be that comfortable outside on Thursday with highs getting up to around 90 degrees with the heat index running up into the triple digit heat index.

While drier air will try and push into south Louisiana it won’t arrive until the weekend, and though it will still be humid it will limit the rain chances.

Something to keep in the back of your mind is a surge of moisture in the Gulf of Mexico that may end up becoming a tropical depression.

Regardless of formation in the Gulf of Mexico this will be a wet weekend for the Texas coastline with 3-6″ of rain expected between Houston and Corpus Christi.

There may be a heavy downpour or two here in Acadiana but that will also be related to the moisture we already have in place.
