A quiet work week will end on a quiet note with another day of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 80s.

The humidity has been increasing the last several days and Friday will be no different sending the heat index into the lower 90s.

As is typically the case the humidity can’t hold forever and clouds will start to arrive early in the weekend with a few isolated showers possible through the day Saturday.

It won’t be worth canceling any plans on Saturday over rain as any showers will be moving quickly and will be isolated and sporadic.

As we transition into Saturday night some of the showers will turn over into thunderstorms, which at times may become strong to severe.

The predominant threat will be just to our west but with the storms cooking in Texas we’ll need to watch for some outflow boundaries racing out of those storms.

Sunday looks to be a little wetter with cloudy skies and showers becoming more widespread, but storms becoming less intense.
