The threat of storms has passed in Acadiana, although the clouds are still expected to stick around for another few days.

A brief break in some of the active rainfall for the day Monday, however, another round of showers will move in later in the night.

These showers will be much more mellow than any we had earlier Monday morning, this will be a slow and cold rain which will last into Tuesday morning.

Winds will be picking up later Monday evening and stay strong enough on Tuesday to drive the wind chill into the 30s for the majority of the day.

This is setting up a very cold pattern for Acadiana with the first freeze of the season still expected to arrive in the middle of the week.
