If you glance towards the extended forecast you can see signs that summer is just around the corner, the inevitable return of south Louisiana's most notorious season.
Welcomed by some, hated by others the hot and sticky days are coming so it's more important then ever that we enjoy this stretch of weather coming up over the weekend.
The nights promise to be cool and calm with the afternoons seeing the thermometer hold steady in the lower 80s, and the most rare of Louisiana treats some lower humidity.
This is coming on the heels of our midweek cold front which has also cleared out the skies leaving behind plenty of sunshine for the next several days.
As I hinted at though in the beginning of the article you can't keep these forecasts for long and our first taste of summer lingers in the first half of the work week.
It wouldn't be surprising to see our first 90 degree day and a quiet muggy pattern is shaping up for us after the weekend passes.
A front moving through in the middle of the week will keep the hot forecast from lingering for too long, but it still will serve as a reminder of what is headed our way.
