After a very gray and dreary winter we finally got a nice, sunny day to close out the season.

Heading out later tonight you might need the jacket as temperatures will quickly cool off once the sun goes down dropping into the lower 50s by 10 PM.

Here is a look at the latest hour-by-hour temperatures.

First thing Wednesday morning we will be waking up to some chilly temperatures for mid-March as lows will bottom out in the low to mid 40s.

A cool start Wednesday morning for Acadiana

The good news is with a full day of sunshine temperatures will rapidly warm up with highs once again in the upper 60s to lower 70s Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday evening into Thursday morning a fizzling cold front will swing through Acadiana.

Not expecting any rain but the front could push a few high clouds over the region which will prevent temperatures from cooling too much as lows will hold in the mid to upper 40s.

Once the clouds clear it will be another beautiful day with lots of sun and highs near 70.

Friday no real changes to the forecast meaning after a cool start with lows in the mid to upper 40s we will warm-up into the lower 70s with mostly sunny skies.

The latest long range models are slowing down our next system so we might even have a fair amount of sunshine on Saturday with highs in the mid 70s.

Clouds do look to return Sunday but now the models are holding off on the rain so we might luck out and get a dry weekend.

According to the European model our next weather system arrives Monday afternoon/evening producing scattered showers and a possibility a few thunderstorms.

Rounds of showers could linger into the first half of Tuesday before the system scoots off to the east with clouds hanging around for most of the day.

Behind this system temperatures will cool off slightly again with highs dropping into the upper 60s to lower 70s on Wednesday and Thursday and lows falling back down to the upper 40s to lower 50s but we should have plenty of sunshine both days.
