Turning cold and breezy Sunday

After a good soaking today across Acadiana the rains are moving off to the east but a few stray sprinkles/mist could linger into Saturday evening.

More importantly chilly and breezy conditions will be moving into the area tonight as lows will dip into the lower 40s but it will feel more like the mid 30s, so get the heavy coats, hats and gloves out again.

Even Sunday afternoon it is going to stay on the cool and breezy side with highs struggling to reach the upper 40s under overcast skies.

Skies will finally begin to clear Sunday night into Monday morning setting up a cold start to the work week as temperatures will be in the mid 30s as you head back to work or school.

Projected temperatures for Monday morning

With a full day of sunshine and winds relaxing it will feel better Monday afternoon but highs will still only be in the mid 50s.

Tuesday morning will be the coldest of the week as lows will get down close to the freezing mark creating a good probably for heavy frost, so pets and plants will need to be protected but pipes should be fine.

Tuesday will be another nice but cool day with highs in the upper 50s.

Wednesday clouds start to return along with milder temperatures in the mid 60s as winds turn out of the south.

Scattered showers and a few storms will then swing through Acadiana on Thursday with our next cold front.

Behind this front temperatures will fall a little but highs will stay in the upper 50s and lower 60s with sunshine returning Friday through the weekend.
