The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Flash Flood Warning for central Vermilion Parish until 6:45 a.m.
At 3:42 a.m., radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flooding include Abbeville, Forked Island, Meaux and Esther. Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the
warned area.
