It has been another soggy day for Acadiana with on and off light to moderate showers as a stationary front remains situated over the region.

Later this evening the showers should begin to fade but it will still be a damp night which could lead to some patchy fog but we might have enough of a light ENE breeze to prevent the fog from getting to too thick.

Wednesday I think we will see a mix of sun and clouds warming temperatures into the upper 80s to lower 90s and heat indices near the triple digits.

With a NE breeze Wednesday afternoon that might keep rain chances a little lower near 30-40% as we won’t have the sea breeze pushing Gulf moisture over the region but thanks to all the rain the pass couples days that could still be enough with the daytime heating to get isolated showers and a few thunderstorms to fire up late in the afternoon.

Thursday rain chances go back up to 50-60% as the potential tropical system will be developing in the western Gulf and could sends us some tropical rain bands during the afternoon.

For more on that possible tropical system in the Gulf read our full discussion here.

A few lingering tropical showers and storms will be possible for Acadiana as the tropical system makes landfall near the Texas Coast otherwise it should be partly sunny, hot and humid so Friday night football should be okay this week.

Then this weekend an area of high pressure should form over Louisiana as we will be between Florence on the East coast and the possible tropical system over south Texas.

With high pressure in place we should have a relatively dry but hot weekend for Acadiana with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the lower 90s.

The sunny and hot weather then looks to continue into the first half of next week.
