Finally rain chances are going down

After several days of afternoon showers and storms this past week and on Saturday it looks like most of us might finally get a break in the rain the next few days.

That said I will not rule out a couple isolated showers and storms Sunday afternoon with the daytime heating as we still have plenty of moisture on the ground and in the lower atmosphere from all the rain the past few days.

Then as we head back to school and work Monday Saharan dust will work its way over Acadiana helping to choke out any showers and storms from developing but that means it will get really hot and humid again with feel like temperatures in the triple digits.

The hot and dry pattern looks to continue Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the low to mid 90s and heat indices soaring to 103-107°.

For the second half of the work week it will stay hot and humid but we could start to have a couple pop-up showers and storms during the afternoon as rain chances will be about 30%.

Looking ahead to next weekend we could have our next best chance(40%) for scattered showers and storms Saturday afternoon but we should still have plenty of dry periods to get stuff done outside while Sunday we will have a 30% for a few pop-up showers and storms.
