10 a.m. update on winter weather threat in Acadiana from KATC meteorologist Bradley Benoit:

A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued for most of Acadiana. An impactful winter storm will approach the area late Sunday night going into Monday.

Atmospheric profiles during this time continue to show a freezing rain/icing event. Latest model guidance show ice accumulations of .25"-.50"+ possible. This will lead to very dangerous driving conditions as roads will be slick/iced over. Travel will continue to be treacherous going into Tuesday as temperatures plummet into the teens Tuesday morning.

Furthermore, power outages and tree limbs breaking can not be ruled out with type of accumulating ice.
