Father Steven Parks was accused of molesting a 10-year-old in a lawsuit filed in 2003. The suit alleges the molestation happened from 1966-1971 while Parks was working at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Grand Coteau and at St. Peter Claver Elementary School in Opelousas.
The suit alleges that the abuse happened repeatedly, and at the school, in the early 1960s. The victim repressed the memories until 2002. The case was settled in 2006.
