According to a list released by the New Orleans Diocese, Pierre Celestin Cambiaire is among the clergy who are deceased who admitted or were publicly accused of sexually abusing a minor.
The abuse happened in the late 1910s and the allegation was received in 1917, which is also when he was removed. He died in 1955. In Acadiana, he served at St. Leon in Leonville.
