Michael Herpin
Alleged Abuse: Diocese announced his removal after allegations surfaced from 30 years ago. It doesn’t appear any criminal charges or lawsuits have been filed.
Where is he now: Retired
In July of 2002 the Diocese removed Monsignor Michael Herpin because they say he informed them he had “engaged in sexual impropriety with a minor about 30 years ago.” The diocese’s Review Board for Effective Response to the Allegations of Sexual Abuse of Minors met on the issue and recommended Herpin be immediately removed and provided with medical treatment. A newspaper article in 2017 listed Herpin as “retired.” The diocese would provide no clarification on what he was accused of doing. It’s also unclear where Herpin is, but he still frequently appears in the “pray for our priests” and “pray for our sick” section in diocese publications.
