More sunshine & getting warm Sunday

Posted

We will have another sun filled day to wrapped up this beautiful weekend for Festival International on Sunday.

However, that sunshine mixed with low humidity levels and light winds will push temperatures into the mid 80s making it feel quite warm during the afternoon, so remember to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

The stretch of beautiful weather will continue into the first half of the upcoming work week as we will have mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 80s.

Moving into Wednesday and Thursday winds will turn breezy out of the SSE at 10-20 mph pushing humid air off the Gulf and over the region.

Thus, it will start to fell a little more like summer as we move into the month of May with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the upper 60s.

With this return to a summer-like pattern we will also have the chance for a few stray showers Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Friday clouds start to thicken in advance of our next cold front which will be dropping down out of the Great Plains.

By Friday evening we could even start to see some isolated showers throughout Acadiana.

Our best chance for rain will be Saturday afternoon as the actual front swings into south Louisiana producing scattered showers and possibility a few thunderstorms.

The front then looks to get hung up along the Gulf coast Sunday causing clouds and a few showers to linger throughout the day.

So, after having fantastic weather for Festival International it looks like we are back to the rainy weather falling on the weekend which is bad news for the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.

Hopefully we will get some breaks in the rain and the festival will not be a complete wash out.
