Earlier this week we brought you the story of Cajuns safety Tracy Walker and his goal of making it from playing for the Vermilion and White to making an NFL roster. Friday night that goal became a lot closer to becoming a reality for Walker who was selected in the third round by the Detroit Lions.

The Ragin’ Cajuns Tracy Walker sat down with our own Andrew Clay earlier this week to discuss his thoughts on potentially being selected in this year’s draft. Walker was taken with 82nd overall pick by the Detroit and is the team’s first defensive pick in this year’s draft.

Earlier this week Walker spoke about what he expects for himself should he be lucky enough to make it on an NFL roster.

"My goal is to go there and make a mark" Walker said. "Whether it’s on a practice squad, my goal is to start as a rookie coming in, but I just want to help the team."
