Two injured in overnight shooting at Citi Trends in Lafayette

New information is being released about the shooting that happened at a clothing store on Evangeline Thruway.

Police have now confirmed that looting took place near the scene of the officer-involved shooting Friday night. They say they cannot confirm that any protesters were involved in the incident, which included a fight.

Detectives are sifting through various video taken at the scene to determine what happened, a spokesman said.

Officer responded to a shooting around midnight where two people were shot in front of Citi Trends on Evangeline Thruway and transported to a local hospital.

Officials say right now both victims have non-life-threatening injuries.

There are no suspects yet in the incident.
