Country star Thomas Rhett just welcomed his third child. His wife, Lauren Akins, gave birth to a baby girl, Lennon Love Akins, on Feb. 10. The couple is also parents to daughters Ada James, 2, and Willa Gray, 4.
Rhett took to Instagram to share the good news.
“Lennon Love Akins was born at 8:30 AM on February 10th!” he wrote alongside a series of photos of the newborn, including shots of her with her parents and sisters. “It was such a joy to watch this little angel be brought into the world. My wife is just incredible through the entire birth.”
“Watching our kids meet Lennon for the first time was probably the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen in my whole life!” he added. “Ada James and Willa Gray are going to be the best big sisters on the planet. The Lord is so good and I’m so grateful for my beautiful growing family!! Y’all pray for us as we switch from man on man defense to zone.”
Aww! Back in 2018, Rhett earned praise for posting a sweet photo with his daughter, Willa Gray, in which the two sported matching bonnets. Rhett and Akins adopted Willa Gray from Uganda in 2017, and fans were impressed with his commitment to embracing his daughter’s culture by wearing the cap, which is typically worn to protect black hair at night while sleeping.
Too cute!
“As hard as it is having the two of them so close together, it’s also amazing,” Akins told Us Weekly in 2018, referring to the small age gap between Willa Gray and Ada James. “I love that they have each other. It is very, very sweet.”
In her own Instagram post announcing the birth of her third daughter, Akins shared some sweet shots of the three girls together:
Congratulations to the whole family on their new addition!
