When autumn hits, it’s fun to participate in all kinds of festive fall activities — from hitting the pumpkin patch to picking apples to winding your way through a corn maze. At Lee Highway Farms in Bristol, Virginia, there’s an amazing corn maze in the shape of the United States.
Last year, Stewart Etter made a maze in the shape of the state of Virginia, and this year, he took it to the next level by making a maze fashioned after the nation. The maze includes stops for 16 U.S. cities, including New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and even Bristol itself.
There’s also another smaller maze for young kids that’s shaped like a barn. It includes six animals for little ones to find along the way.

How cool!
As the post indicates, in addition to their corn mazes, Lee Highway Farms also has a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, a selection of pre-picked pumpkins, mums for sale and hayrides.
“Lee Highway Farms is ready to celebrate fall with you and your families and friends!” reads the post.
To create the amazing U.S.-shaped corn maze, Etter enlisted the help of a friend to wear a GPS and walk in front of the machinery to help make sure that states were cut accurately.
“It’s a one-shot deal,” Etter told WTVR-TV about the ambitious project. “New England was the hardest to cut because the states are so small.”
Etter says the maze has led to a spike in business for his farm, and he encourages tourism to the area this time of year.
“Come on down to Southwest Virginia,” he told the outlet. “There’s a lot of stuff down here, good friendly people, a lot of good places to eat. This is the best time of year to be in the mountains.”
If you can’t get to Virginia, there are other complicated corn mazes in the U.S. where you can pass the time.
For example, in Spring Grove, Illinois, Richardson Adventure Farm is known for changing its theme every year. This year, it created a maze that celebrates the Apollo 11 landing. This maze, over 28 acres, features more than nine miles of trail.
Check out an image of the maze with a teaser message from last month, on @richardsonadventurefarm:
In Lodi, Wisconsin, Treinen Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is celebrating cranes this year with its “The Dance of the Cranes” maze. Treinen Farm is located about a half hour away from the International Crane Foundation, and Wisconsin is home to sandhill cranes and the much rarer whooping cranes.
