Kellogg's rolling out new meatless alternatives

Kellogg's now has snack options besides PopTarts and Corn Flakes.

The company has rolled out a new product called Leaf Jerky - a "vegan, portable protein snack," that will take the place of beef jerky.

Kellogg gave a woman named Amy the opportunity to pitch the idea and they loved it! She soon founded Leaf Jerky and it's now for sale in stores under the umbrella of The Kellogg Company.

The company's website says the jerky has 11 g of protein and only 80 calories.

Currently, the only flavor is cracked pepper and herb, but there are more flavors coming soon.

This comes around the same time that MorningStar Farms, another company under the Kellogg name, announced it would begin rolling out "incogmeato" burgers.

"When it looks like meat, and tastes like meat, it's not meat incognito...it's Incogmeato."

The company says it plans to roll out the products in stores in 2020. The line will include burger patties, chik'n tenders, and chik'n nuggets.
