The University of Louisiana at Lafayette honored assistant Louisiana football coach D.J. Looney on Saturday by lowering the University flag.
UL administration posted a short tribute to Looney on their Facebook page Friday.
The University flag was lowered to half-staff at the Louisiana Welcome Wall in front of Martin Hall in Looney's memory.
Looney passed away suddenly last Saturday morning after suffering a heart attack during a team workout at Cajun Field. He was 31 years old and entering his third season on staff with the Cajuns.
