Louisiana football was supposed to open their season Saturday against McNeese State. But the Southland Conference postponed their season to the spring, and the game was canceled.
UL's season now begins September 12th at Iowa State, but the Cajuns still came through with a big win Saturday. The Cajuns traveling to Lake Charles to help the Cowboys with Hurricane Laura relief.
During the week, the University, AmeriCorps community service program and Department of Athletics collected donations at Cajun Field to benefit those impacted at McNeese State and the surrounding Southwest Louisiana community.
Coaches and athletes from multiple UL sports helped unload bottled water & sports drinks, dry/non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies and personal care items on campus.
