LAFAYETTE — UL Forward Jalen Johnson is entering his name into the transfer portal, the university announced Wednesday.
In his lone season in Lafayette, the St. Louis transfer led the Cajuns with 15.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in 2019-20.
The Baton Rouge native will be leaving Louisiana as a graduate, meaning he would be eligible immediately to play at whatever university he decides to attend.
Head Coach Bob Marlin released this statement Wednesday:
“We appreciate Jalen's contributions to our basketball team, both on and off the court, during the 2019-20 season. He spoke with me in the past couple of weeks about early entry into the NBA Draft and he has completed his paperwork. Jalen is on course to graduate this spring and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
