After two years at Maryland, Lance LeGendre announced he will transfer to Louisiana with threes years of eligibility remaining.
LeGendre was a high school star out of Warren Easton. He was a four star recruit with offers to Alabama, Florida State and Kansas. He redshirted as a freshman despite appearing in three games. He played in three again this year and started a game while Taulia Tagovailoa was in COVID protocal. But by year's end he'd third string on Maryland's depth chart at the end of the season. In two seasons LeGendre completed 12 of 17 passes for 98 yards, and two interceptions.
The transfer shores up Louisiana's quarterback room. Earlier this week backup Jaiave Magalei entered the transfer portal. Magalei floated in and out of the second string slot behind Levi Lewis who is returning to Louisiana for a fifth season. A once JUCO transfer, Magalei has two years of eligibility remaining.
Outside linebacker Joe Dillon is also leaving the Cajuns. He's among the program's all-time sack leaders recording 18.5 throughout his career. Dillon sat out 2018 with an injury, and returned last fall recording a team high 8 sacks, but struggled to find consistent playing time this year. He failed to record a sack at all for the first time in his career.
