Cajuns running back Elijah Mitchell is declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft, he announced on twitter Sunday.

The Erath native led Louisiana in rushing in 2020 with 878 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was named a 1st team All-Sun Belt Selection. The senior was also named the First Responders Bowl MVP, after gaining 172 yards on 21 touches and a TD in the bowl win.
Mitchell leaves after an illustrious 4-year career with UL, where he finishes 6th all-time in rushing yards (3,267 yds) and 5th all-time in rushing TDs (41).
Mitchell has been invited to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama and is projected to be a Day 3 selection in the NFL Draft.
