Since last March no Louisiana athletics team has been impacted by COVID-19 more than Louisiana women's basketball.
Since the season tipped, five Cajuns' games have been postponed including last week's games at Little Rock. The Sun Belt will try rescheduling those conference match-ups. The Cajuns (2-5) have struggled to settle into a rhythm, but if last year's conference tournament cancellation taught Garry Brodhead's team anything, it was to learn from adversity.
"When nobody gives you anything, or something is taken from you, it feels bad but you learn to work through it and you come out on top if you utilize it and I think our kids have. It's called maturity. How do we mature into a young adult and learn to handle all the problems we'll have in life."
Last spring Louisiana was scheduled to play a conference semifinal game when the tournament was canceled.
Louisiana plays UT-Arlington Friday, the team's first home game since beating McNeese December 9.
