LAFAYETTE (Press Release) – Louisiana baseball will put its four-game winning streak on the line this weekend when it welcomes Loyola Marymount to M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park for its final non-conference series.

First pitch on Friday is set for 6:30 p.m., while Saturday’s game is slated for 2 p.m. and Sunday’s finale is scheduled to begin at noon. All three games can be streamed live on the Ragin’ Cajuns Digital Network.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (5-7) have won four of their last five contests, including Wednesday’s 16-10 thriller on the road at McNeese State. In that game, Louisiana hit three massive home runs and tacked on two doubles to produce a season-high run total.

Senior Handsome Monica was the creator of one of those homers and added a double for his fifth multi-hit game of the season. Monica, who boasts the third-highest batting average on the team (.314), has put together a five-game hitting streak and currently leads the team with 11 RBI.

Hunter Kasuls continues to lead the team offensively with 14 hits in 39 at bats, while Brennan Breaux, who smashed a pivotal three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning at McNeese, is hitting .318 (14-for-44) and has scored seven runs and produced seven RBI.

Louisiana will go with Gunner Leger (0-1) on the mound on Friday, with Dalton Horton (1-0) pitching Saturday and Austin Perrin (0-1) getting the call on Sunday. Loyola Marymount’s starters remain TBA.

The two programs will be facing off for the first time when they meet up on Friday. Louisiana has had limited exposure to teams from the West Coast Conference and is 0-4 against current members.
