LAFAYETTE (Press Release) A three-week road trip ends and Sun Belt Conference play begins when No. 11 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Softball visits Texas State. The three-game series at Bobcat Softball Stadium in San Marcos, Texas runs Friday-Sunday, March 8-10.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (15-3, 0-0 Sun Belt) and Bobcats (9-11, 0-0 Sun Belt) meet in three single games, a change to the conference’s weekend series format which debuts this season.

The series begins Friday at 6 p.m., continues Saturday at 2 p.m., and concludes Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Louisiana embarks on the 19th season of regular season competition in the Sun Belt. It’s the first time Texas State is the opposition for the league-opening series.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are coming off a Top 25 split last weekend at the Oklahoma Courtyard Marriott Tournament against Oregon State and the host-Sooners. That moved the squad to 4-3 on the present road trip.

The series features the two programs who have met for the Sun Belt Tournament title the past three seasons. The 2019 league championship event will be held in San Marcos.

Louisiana has an active streak of 46 consecutive Sun Belt Conference series won (school and SBC record streak). The streak spans the previous five-plus seasons, dating back to a March 2013 sweep of FIU.
