Napier: “Practice Make Permanent”

Posted

LAFAYETTE (KATC) — Saturday’s test for Louisiana football doesn’t need qualifiers. It’s Alabama. It’s the number one team in the nation. That’s all you need to know.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are coming off a disappointing loss at home in the Sun Belt opener to Coastal Carolina.

Wednesday in his weekly press conference, coach Billy Napier commented on his team’s poise and discipline. Napier is happy with how his team prepares and commented that practice doesn’t make perfect, but permanent. He certainly wants his team to prepare this sharply for all games, not just those against the number one team.

But even if Louisiana executes at 100-percent, is it enough for the Cajuns to pull off the upset of a lifetime?

“Well if it’s perfect, it would be enough. You know? So, obviously we believe around here it’s in our control. You know? And that’s the approach and the attitude we’ve gotta take,” he said. “The men in that room are going to dictate what happens and that’s the approach we’ve gotta have. Ultimately, if we don’t get it done we’re going to be able to look back and say hey, we could have done some things better. And that’s the mindset mentality that takes time to develop.”
