NEW IBERIA — Kayshon Boutte brings the speed, and Makholven Sonn supplies the technique. Together, this wide receiver tandem is what nightmares are made of, for opposing secondaries.
Boutte finished 2018 with 50 catches, 805 yards and 10 TDs through the air, while adding 421 yards and 6 TDs on the ground. Meanwhile, Sonn pulled in 46 receptions for 708 yards and 9 TDs.
"They're not what I call typical receivers," Westgate offensive coordinator Derek Landry said. "I been around those guys. (Some guys are) me guys. (Kayshon and Makholven) are both of their own biggest fans."
Boutte is committed to LSU, while Sonn has pledged to Kansas State. The duo hopes to one day become the Westgate version of LSU's Odell Beckham Junior and Jarvis Landry.
"It's like their work ethic. Odell go in the lab, Jarvis in the lab," Sonn said. "Now they're in the league together. That's what we want to do. We want to be in the league together."
