IOTA — Bigger, faster, stronger, that's the theme for Luke Doucet who added 20 pounds to his frame in the off-season.
In 2018, Doucet, a St. Edmund transfer, rushed for more than 2,300 yards and 26 touchdowns, leading Iota to the state semifinals.
The running back is prepared for a bigger, even more physical season in 2019.
"When you block for a guy like Luke it makes it more fun for the linemen when they see him run over people and not run around," said head coach Josh Andrus. "They get fired up when he makes those 10-15 yard runs."
Doucet weighs in north of 225 this summer and at a camp he was clocked running a 4.65 40-yard-dash. Not only is he bigger, but faster.
"Punish them more. That's what I do when I run. If that extra wight, they won't want to hit me. It'll help our team. They'll be tired and won't to move or anythin," Doucet said.
