The LHSAA says it will proceed with plans to start playing football games on Thursday, October 8th.
Executive director Eddie Bonine made the announcement Friday morning during a House Education Committee meeting. According to the Advocate, spectators will be held to 50-percent and gate workers will have to perform a health assessment.
Bonine didn't reveal a formal plan on what the season will look like. He said last month that teams would start the season playing their week three opponent, but the full scheduling details were undetermined at that time. Many of which hinged on the availability of the Superdome.
Bonine also said the new plan is independent of the state's re-opening phases.
The 50-percent attendance will also be applied to high school volleyball.
