Crowley football hopes to channel frustration from last season's playoff loss to Kaplan in the two's meeting Friday night at Crowley Middle School. The Gents (5-2) have won four-straight averaging more than 45-points-per-game in that stretch. Kaplan beat Crowley in their last meeting 35-6 during the second round of the 3A playoffs. Gents head coach Jeptha Wall says Kaplan was just more physical in that game. The Pirates, aren't quite what was expected, and that isn't lost on head coach Stephen Lotief. His team is in an unusual position with a 3-4 record. Kaplan ended a 4-game losing streak Friday in a 26-15 win over St. Martinville. The Pirates have been in concecutive state semifinals but are in real danger of missing the postseason if Kaplan can't find a win to win two of its final three games.
