Abbeville Wildcats
Coach: Roderick Moy
2019 Record: 1-9 (Missed Playoffs)
District: 6-3A
Notes: Wildcats seeking to reach the postseason for first time since 2010
Roderick Moy has witnessed a lot of talent on the Abbeville sideline over the years wondering why their record doesn't reflect their athletic ability as a team.
"How hard is it going to be to come in here and turn it around and get it where it's supposed to be, because I know it's not from the lack of athletes," Moy said.
The first year Wildcats Head Coach not only wants to add some more wins to the board but wants his seniors to strive for the playoffs.
Abbeville, who went 1-9 last season, hasn't had a taste of playoffs in 10 years…
Moy comes in with confidence seeing an opportunity to bring a change to the program as he did in his previous role as head coach at Gueydan.
The veteran coach led the Bears to their first ever playoff win in more than a decade
Something the seniors at Abbeville are hopeful for this year.
"I feel like it would make the other sports play harder, make the community support us even more," Abbeville Quarterback Jaidyn O'Brien said. "I want them to know we are going to work hard this year. We're a new team and we're better than we were the last few years."
"It will bring a lot of hope because we've never done it, it's been a while," Abbeville Defensive Tackle Marshall Major said. "It's been a bit challenging, but I feel like we're going to pull it out this year."
