VILLE PLATTE — The injury bug was not kind to Sacred Heart of Ville Platte last season.
Star running back JT Harper was one of several Trojans to go down, but despite it all, Sacred Heart was still able to finish 7-4.
The Trojans now enter 2019 with some added experience and an offensive epiphany. SHVP began the year in the split back, but finished with their bread and butter, the single wing.
The theme for the Trojans this year is run the race, as Sacred Heart hopes their marathon can lead them past the 1st round for the first time in the Josh Harper era.
"When you see these kids and the work they put in in the summer. It brings joy to me for their success," Harper said. "I want to see them finally get over that hump. I want to see them hang their hat on were the ones who finally got that playoff game for you coach."
"It would be a good legacy to have, the first class in a couple years to do it. Pass the torch to others coming up," Sacred Heart Senior WR/DB Tyler Perron said. "Start a tradition of everybody working hard and winning that first round playoff game."
2018 Record: 7-4
