LAFAYETTE — The show must go on and will at Lafayette Christian without Trev Faulk.

"It just doesn't feel right," said new head coach Jacarde Carter. "It feels like we had a perfectly good unit. Working in cohesion. Now you're missing your head, missing the guy who orchestrated the whole thing."

Former Northside product, and LCA defensive coordinator Jacarder Carter takes over LCA after the LHSAA suspended Faulk for the year. LCA has filed a lawsuit and is waiting a ruling that would reinstate Faulk. The Louisiana High School Athletics Associate suspended him for coaching the Knights' football team while not being a member of the school's faculty, which breaks a league rule.

LCA won the past two Division IV championships under Faulk.

This season LCA faces a new battle with a new coach in a new class. LCA moves to 3A and Division III where powers like Catholic High of New Iberia and Notre Dame are perennial championship contenders. With so much change LCA is just trying to keep things "status quo."

"Growing up my dad always taught me the saying 'the job of a leader is to make sure the group can go on with out him,'" said senior tackle Noah Bellow. I think from all this time with him, we know how it goes."
