JENNINGS — Under Rusty Phelps, losing records aren't the norm at Jennings High School.

The Bulldogs entered 2018 with tons of promise, only for injuries and untimely penalties to derail any successful plans, as JHS finished 4-7.

Jennings plans to get back to tradition in 2019. For one, the Bulldogs have always found success with a strong run game. Junior Jalen Lewis and Sophomore Trevor Etienne should provide the thunder and lightning needed to power the run game.

The Bulldogs have an anchor on defense in DT Keenan Landry. At 6'3, 315 pounds, the junior already has offers from LSU and Tulane.

"He draws a lot of double teams," Phelps said. "You don't hear him complaining about it. He's really a team guy. He pushes guys out here. "

2018 Record: 4-7
District: 4-3A
Head Coach: Rusty Phelps
Returning Starters: 12
Other Notes: DT Keenan Landry has offers to play LSU/Tulane
