ELTON — In Donnie Bruchhaus's first year in Elton he began changing the culture around the program. In year two, it's a new offense and defense that's on the way.
"The first problem we have with our roster is we didn't have spread personnel. We don't have a spread quarterback and a lot of guys are new to the offense," he said.
Elton will take the spread, and table the system in favor of football's roots and a wing-t approach.
"The strength of the team comes from the offensive line, we have a lot of big guys up front, and we thought this offense would suit them," said Bruchhaus.
Senior Chandler Leonard moves from offensive line to quarterback, in an unusual position change. Bruchhaus was very complimentary on Leonard's dedication to the transition. The Indians will roster a small team with just 24 players, but it's a group coach feels strongly in.
"We knew that this year would be a special team," he said. "We have good kids, a good group of seniors and everyone is looking forward to the football season"
