Acadiana Christian Athletics offers students of many ages a chance to compete and be apart of an organization.
For senior wide receiver, Elijah Armentor, he stumbled upon them through a family friend and jumped at a chance to play football.
"I go to a small private school in Breaux Bridge and they don't have a football team,” said Elijah Armentor. “I always wanted to play football. So, I found this league at the same kind of high school level. I'm just grateful that they let me play for them.”
Elijah and the ACA Defenders are the reigning state champions, attempting to repeat history on Thursday.
The senior has been a huge contribution on both defense and offense in the two years he’s been on the team. When it comes to offense Elijah has accumulated over 900 receiving yards, averaging nearly 20 yards a catch.
“This year we threw him in on the offensive side of the ball and he’s just been non-stop, said head coach,” Taylor Boutin. “You can double cover him, triple cover him, he gets the ball in his hand and he’s gone.”
